Food trucks in Mbombela

Mbombela, the capital of Mpumalanga and the main gateway to the Kruger National Park, has no food truck park. Its trucks and stalls follow the Lowveld's event calendar instead: the monthly farmers market at the botanical garden, the Mead and Honey Festival each August, school interhighs and Christmas markets.

The listings so far are both event traders. Samoosa Rani's sells homemade samoosas at festivals and markets, and The Rolling Eatery is a food trailer run by two sisters that works markets as well as weddings and year-end functions.

Summers here are hot, humid and wet and winters are dry, and many of the outdoor events these trucks work fall between July and November.

Year-end bookings start early: The Rolling Eatery was advertising them at the start of November 2025. For a summer event, plan shade and cover for the heat and the rain.
