Wood-fired pizza and tacos on Old Stellenbosch Road, mobile coffee, gourmet sandwiches and spit braais: find Somerset West's food trucks and caterers.
Based elsewhere, but they come to Somerset West for weddings, parties and work functions.
Somerset West's food trucks sit on the Helderberg side of the Cape Town metro, and several keep regular hours. The corner of Old Stellenbosch Road and Steynsrust Road is the town's nearest thing to a truck stop: Chilangos sells Mexican street food there, and Ishushu Woodfired Pizza bakes pizza at Steynsrust Bridge on the same road. Infinity Coffee has its own pitch at the Helderberg Nature Reserve.
The mix covers burritos and birria tacos, thin-base pizza, espresso and iced crushers, slow-roasted meat in ciabattas and whole lamb on the spit. Most trucks split their week between a regular pitch and private bookings such as golf days, school swim events and concerts.
Chilangos is the Mexican truck at the corner of Old Stellenbosch Road and Steynsrust Road, open Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 20:00 according to its 2026 posts. The menu runs to burritos, nachos, quesadillas, chilli poppers, spicy chicken wings and churros with chocolate sauce, and the winter menu added birria tacos with consommé and a fried, loaded chimichanga.
Order ahead on WhatsApp, or through Uber Eats and Mr D. In January 2026 Chilangos said it also trades every weekend at the Blaauwklippen Family Market on the R44, and it builds event menus from the same list, pulled pork ciabattas included.
Ishushu Woodfired Pizza parks at Steynsrust Bridge, on the corner of Irene and Old Stellenbosch Road. The thin-base pizzas come out of a wood-fired oven on the trailer, the Tuscany, the Ishushu Medley and the Bacon Banana Rama among them, and you can build your own on a gluten-free or banting base. The same oven does a cheeseburger and chips.
Ishushu also delivers through Mr D, and in 2026 its trailers catered a PGA golf tournament and a concert at Somerset College.

Infinity Coffee is run by Shelly and Stuart Topham from a trailer based in Gordon's Bay, and it has been parked at the Helderberg Nature Reserve since April 2024. In April 2026 it opened Tuesday to Friday from 06:30 to 13:30 and on weekends from 06:30 to 15:00.
Beyond the cappuccino there is the Afgan Espresso (two shots poured over ice cream), the Boereccino, Coffee Freezos and iced crushers. The trailer also goes to school sports days, corporate events and weddings, and the owners say they take cash, card and SnapScan.

Spit-Braai King brings gas spit machines to your venue and roasts a whole lamb in about two hours, basted with Lappies braai sauce. Gas means no smoke, and its website says the spits can work indoors. The company states that its lamb is halaal.
Menus start at 30 guests for a lamb spit main course and 40 for meat only, and it says it can feed up to 3,000 people. It also does grills, potjies, chicken and beef menus, with malva pudding or cheesecake for dessert.

The Rolling Fork serves slow-roasted meat in ciabattas, freshly squeezed juices and giant chocolate chip and Nutella cookies baked in-house. It has no fixed pitch: in September 2026 it posted from the Hangklip Hotel spring market and the Croydon Olive Estate, and in August it spent three days at a swim event at Generation Schools Somerset West. For year-end functions it will park at your office or in your driveway.
Somerset West has no food truck park. You can walk up to the trucks on Old Stellenbosch Road and at the nature reserve, and wine estate markets fill the weekends.
Chilangos trades at the corner of Old Stellenbosch Road and Steynsrust Road, Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 20:00, and Ishushu Woodfired Pizza parks at Steynsrust Bridge on the corner of Irene and Old Stellenbosch Road.
Infinity Coffee's trailer serves walkers at the reserve, entrance on Verster Avenue, from 06:30 Tuesday to Sunday.
On Lourensford Wine Estate, Fridays 17:00 to 22:00 and weekends 11:00 to 16:00. Its 60 or so stalls are permanent rather than visiting trucks, with food, estate wine, craft beer and live music.
On the R44 towards Stellenbosch, Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to 17:00, weather permitting. Chilangos posted in January 2026 that it trades there every weekend.
Typical Somerset West bookings are school events, office year-end functions and parties at home or on a wine estate. The Rolling Fork was already warning in September 2026 that year-end dates were filling up, so book November and December early. Trucks with regular hours need notice to leave their pitch.
Spit-Braai King needs at least 30 guests, and its gas spits can run indoors if a winter function moves out of the rain. Check that your venue allows outside caterers to cook on site.
When you know your date, guest numbers and venue, use Request Booking on the truck's page. It sends your details straight to the truck by WhatsApp or email, and the truck quotes you directly.
