Fish and chips by Beacon Island, mini Dutch pancakes on Central Beach, gelato and Mediterranean food at the markets: Plett's food trucks.
Based elsewhere, but they come to Plettenberg Bay for weddings, parties and work functions.

Plett's trucks follow the beach and the markets. Lev's Mobile Diner sells fish and chips from the parking area beside the Beacon Island resort, and Coastal Cravings Plett opened on Central Beach in December 2025 with mini Dutch pancakes and waffle sticks. Both sit on the Central Beach side of town, close to the sand.
Away from the beach, the food is at weekly markets along the N2. Taste of the Med sells spanakopita, baklava and gyros at the Wednesday Market at Old Nick Village and the Harkerville Saturday Market, and Ice Cream Man Events takes gelato to festivals, school fairs and the Nature's Valley Easter Market.
Trade follows the season. The December and January holidays bring the crowds to Central Beach and the markets, and outside the holidays the trucks lean on events: the Simola Hillclimb and Knysna Oyster Festival up the road, showjumping at Robberg and school fun days.
Lev's Mobile Diner is a trailer in the Beacon Island Drive parking area next to the Beacon Island resort. The signboard lists fish and chips, chicken burgers, prego steak rolls, chips and strips, cinnamon rolls and ice cream. Food comes in takeaway boxes, and you can eat on the wall overlooking the sea.
The trailer's sign also says it is available for functions, so ask about booking it for a beach-house party or a club event.

Taste of the Med sells homemade Greek food at Plett's markets. The mezze covers spanakopita, kotopita, feta parcels, zucchini balls and dolmades, and at events it adds gyros with tzatziki and a choice of lemon chicken, lamb or halloumi. Desserts are baklava and portokolapita, a Greek orange cake, and breakfast is Greek yoghurt with homemade granola and seasonal fruit.
It also sells frozen packs of mezze and desserts that cook at home in about 20 minutes. In July 2026 it traded at the Robberg Equestrian Park outdoor grand prix.
Coastal Cravings Plett opened on Central Beach on 9 December 2025, in time for the holidays. It sells two things: mini Dutch pancakes and waffle sticks, both cooked to order from fresh batter and finished with your choice of toppings.
Its posts so far come from the December season, so check its Facebook page before a winter visit. It is not marked as available for hire.
Ice Cream Man Events scoops artisanal gelato made by Ice Palazzo in Plett. It is an events business rather than a beach stop. In 2026 it served at the Nature's Valley Easter Market on Easter Monday, the Plettenberg Bay Primary food fair and carnival in April, the pits at the Simola Hillclimb in Knysna, and the Knysna Oyster Festival in July.
It takes bookings for school fairs, markets and private events around Plett and the Garden Route.
Plett has two beach spots, two weekly markets on the N2 and a run of events through the year.
Lev's Mobile Diner parks in the Beacon Island Drive parking area beside the resort, and Coastal Cravings Plett trades on Central Beach, which is busiest over the December holidays.
At Old Nick Village on the N2 outside town, every Wednesday from 09:00 to 14:00, with home bakes, produce, crafts and coffee. Taste of the Med trades here, and the market turned 14 on 30 September 2026.
On the N2 midway between Plett and Knysna, every Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00, rain or shine, with more than 100 stalls. Taste of the Med sells its mezze and baklava here.
A once-a-year market at Phyl Martin Park in Nature's Valley on Easter Monday, 10:00 to 16:00 in 2026. Ice Cream Man Events served gelato there.
Ice Cream Man Events and Lev's Mobile Diner are the Plett listings marked for hire. Ice Cream Man suits school fairs, markets and parties, and Lev's signboard says it is available for functions. Taste of the Med and Coastal Cravings Plett aren't marked for hire, but Taste of the Med's frozen mezze and dessert packs help if you are catering at home.
Plan around the season. Beach trade peaks in December and January. Outside the holidays, local traders work Garden Route events such as the Simola Hillclimb around the start of May and the Oyster Festival in early July. Plett has no listed spit braai caterer yet; the nearest listing is Outeniqua Spitbraai in George, so ask whether it travels.
