The rules for using Food Truck Finder

By using Food Truck Finder (foodtruckfinder.co.za) you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act) or the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. What Food Truck Finder is
Food Truck Finder is a free online directory of food trucks and caterers in South Africa. It:
- Lists food trucks we have researched, and trucks whose owners asked to be listed
- Shows where they trade, what they serve and how to contact them
- Lets you send a booking request straight to a truck by WhatsApp or email
The booking is between you and the truck. We don't take bookings, quotes or payments, and we don't follow up on requests.
We may change or stop any part of the site at any time.
2. Using the site
You don't need an account to use Food Truck Finder. You must be 18 or older to send a booking request or ask us to list a truck.
Sign-in is only for site admins and a few truck owners who have accounts from an earlier version of the site. If you have one of those accounts, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used it.
3. Booking a truck
- When you send a booking request, we email your details and message to the truck, or open WhatsApp so you can send them from your own phone.
- The truck decides whether it can do your event and sets its own prices, deposits and cancellation terms. Agree those with the truck directly, in writing if you can.
- We can't make a truck reply and we don't check whether it does. If you don't hear back, call the truck or choose another one.
- Any agreement, payment or dispute about a booking is between you and the truck.
4. Listings
- Listing a truck is free. There are no subscription, setup or monthly fees.
- We put most listings together ourselves from the business's own public pages (its website, social media and Google listing). Some owners asked us to list them.
- We don't inspect or verify trucks. We try to keep listings accurate, but menus, prices, areas and trading times change, so check with the truck before you rely on them.
- If you own a listed truck and want details changed or the listing removed, use the List your truck form or send us a message and we'll sort it out.
- We may remove a listing that breaks these terms, or that we can no longer confirm is trading.
- If we ever introduce paid features, we will say so on the site and update these terms before charging anyone.
5. If you ask us to list your truck
You agree to:
- Give us accurate details and tell us when they change
- Hold the licences, permits and insurance your business needs
- Follow health and safety rules
6. Things you may not do
You may not use Food Truck Finder to:
- Send false, misleading or abusive booking requests or messages
- Commit fraud, harass anyone or do anything illegal
- Upload harmful code or try to get into our systems without permission
- Scrape the directory or use bots without our permission
- Pretend to be someone else
- Post offensive or discriminatory content
We may remove content or block access if these rules are broken.
7. Content and intellectual property
The site's design, code, text and branding belong to Food Truck Finder. You may not copy, change or distribute them without our permission.
Some listing photos and details come from the business's own public pages. If you own that content and want it changed or removed, contact us and we will do so.
If you send us photos, menus or descriptions for your listing, you keep ownership of them and give us permission to show them on Food Truck Finder.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The site is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that listings, menus, prices or trading times are accurate or up to date. Please check with the truck.
We are not a party to any arrangement between you and a truck. We don't inspect trucks and aren't responsible for their food, safety, prices or whether they turn up.
As far as South African law allows (and subject to the CPA), our total liability to you is limited to R1,000.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Removing listings and blocking access
If you own a listed truck, you can ask us to remove the listing at any time through our contact form.
We may remove a listing, or block someone's access to the site, if these terms are broken.
10. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by South African law. If you have a complaint about Food Truck Finder, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including referring a complaint to the National Consumer Commission or a consumer court.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
