Terms of Service
Legal agreement governing the use of Food Truck Finder

By using Food Truck Finder, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms comply with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act), and Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Our Services
Food Truck Finder is an online platform that:
- Helps users discover food trucks across South Africa
- Displays food truck locations, menus, and contact information
- Facilitates booking inquiries between customers and food truck owners
- Allows food truck owners to manage their business listings
We may modify or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. Food truck owners must additionally hold all required business licences and permits to operate in South Africa.
3. User Accounts
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information
- Keep your password secure and confidential
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in fraudulent activity.
4. Food Truck Owner Obligations
If you list a food truck on our platform, you agree to:
- Keep your listing information accurate and current (menu, prices, hours, location)
- Hold all required business licences, permits, and insurance
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Respond to booking inquiries promptly and professionally
- Honour confirmed bookings
- Maintain an active subscription to keep your listing visible
5. Subscriptions and Payment
Food truck listings require a subscription at R99 per truck per month.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
- Payments are processed securely via PayFast, which supports credit/debit cards, Instant EFT, and other South African payment methods
- All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable
- Failed or declined payments may result in your listing being suspended
- You may cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds for partial months, except where the service is materially defective (refund within 14 days)
We will give 30 days' notice before any price changes.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not use our services to:
- Post false, misleading, or deceptive information
- Engage in fraud, harassment, or illegal activities
- Upload harmful code or attempt to access our systems without authorisation
- Scrape data or use automated bots without permission
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Post offensive or discriminatory content
Violations may result in immediate account termination.
7. Content and Intellectual Property
The Food Truck Finder platform, including its design, code, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission.
You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, descriptions, menus). By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on our platform for the purpose of operating the service.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
8. Disclaimers and Liability
Our services are provided "as is." We do not guarantee the accuracy of food truck listings, menus, or availability — please verify directly with owners.
We are not a party to transactions between customers and food truck owners. We do not inspect or certify food trucks and are not responsible for food quality, safety, or fulfilled bookings.
To the extent permitted by South African law (subject to the CPA), our total liability is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding a claim, or R1,000, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
9. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us. Access continues until the end of your paid period.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or if your subscription payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days. Upon termination, your listings are removed and you remain liable for outstanding fees.
10. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by South African law. Before formal proceedings, please contact us to resolve disputes informally. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including referral to the National Consumer Commission or Consumer Court.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users with at least 30 days' notice for changes affecting paid services. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
